We help to promote a supportive environment through policies, programmes and legislation wherein all Jamaicans, including persons living with HIV (PLHIV), youth and other vulnerable populations are socially included and have their human rights protected.

Our main aim is to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with sexual and reproductive health issues including family planning and HIV/STIs by advocating for policy and legal frameworks and strengthening community systems to promote discrimination reduction and the protection of human rights.

We monitor and evaluate the progress of the National Family Planning programme. We also assist in the formulation of policy positions, the development of strategies to address Reproductive Health issues, and the dissemination of information on these strategies.

We examine and address underlying factors that influence high-risk behaviour, and develop effective strategies for changing or sustaining behaviour. Our focus is on reducing unplanned pregnancies and controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS among high-risk groups and the wider population by promoting safer sexual behaviour. We also develop and coordinate training programmes and information dissemination strategies to address Family Planning/Reproductive Health issues.

We forge and maintain links with the public and private sectors to have them participate in providing family planning services and family life education.

We ensure that all financial transactions of the organisation are properly recorded in keeping with the Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and guided by the Financial Administration and Auditing Act.

We ensure that proper controls are kept of all subsidiary records, books and accounting material in keeping with the guidelines laid down by the Health and Finance Ministries through staff orders and circulars.

We are responsible for the personnel management of the organisation, its annual planning process and administration. We recruit staff, procure goods and services, distribute contraceptives, implement and execute human resource policies and practices, and of course, provide support services to all the units.

We are responsible for developing and maintaining functional, up-to-date information and communication technology systems within the organisation. We develop and implement strategies and best practices for all ICT-related services.

We develop and implement information dissemination and public education strategies on behalf of all units and partners within the National Family Planning Programme. We forge and maintain relationships with the media, public and private entities and international donor agencies through strategic communication activities. We organize and monitor all activities between the organisation and the public, ensuring a favourable image at all times.
